This blog is a collection of things that we like. Have a nice day.

Scared Cube

Scared Cube is a two-wheeled, easy to control robot, equipped with five high power leds and covered with a cube of plexiglass. It is the only light in a cubic room.
“Scared Robot” tries to make people perceive it as a simple living creature, an animal that acts on its own according to one of natures most basic concepts, the concept of escaping.

by Sebastian Neitsch and Jan Bernstein. Exhibited in Santralistanbul.

Hit Counter

Using facial recognition software, Hit Counter narcissistically counts the number of people who have viewed it, and displays that number as the artwork.

It is a throwback to the early days of the internet when hit counters were proudly displayed as signs of social status, re-contextualized into the gallery environment.

Another application by Zach Gage, made with openframeworks

Unify

Unify is a multi-touch block dropping puzzle game.

Instead of controlling a single block dropping from the top towards the bottom, players control two blocks, one coming in from each side, simultaneously.

As you progress, the colors and music evolve.

Nearness

The film Nearness explores interacting without touching.
Made by Jack Schulze and Timo Arnall.

GPS Beatmap

Face Removal Services created the Beatmap, a GPS-based music instrument that transforms the face of the planet into an enormous DJ booth.

Looping musical phrases are represented on a map as overlapping circular territories. As the vehicle approaches the center of a circle, the volume increases. In areas of the map where territories overlap the vehicle generates dynamic mixes of the overlapping musical phrases. By exploring a very large map of many overlapping territories the Beatmap creates complex, dynamic mash-ups.
